Who  is FOSMO?

The Friends of Santa Maria Orphanage (FOSMO) is a nonprofit organization founded by expats in the costal area of Olón, Ecuador, to help support the needs of the local orphanage. Through donations and fund raisers we are able to provide Christmas presents for every child as well as a traditional Christmas dinner. Each child receives a backpack full of needed items.

FOSMO’s mission is to raise awareness of the critical needs at the orphanage and facilitate community involvement to meet those needs. The board is exploring ways to continually improve life at the orphanage. All funds go directly to help the children. For us, it’s all about the kids.

FOSMO is led by a board of directors comprised of eight members living here on the coast of Ecuador.  These volunteers are full-time residents. Currently there are a number of open positions. For 2022 these are the Board members:
